Ken is responsible for new member recruitment. He retired from full-time employment as a plant biochemist in 2015 but still does some consultancy and voluntary work. Inspired by watching the first London Marathon on TV, he ran in 1982 qualifying for the AAA’s marathon championships. Knee problems forced him to give up marathon running nine years later. Joining BASC with his wife in 2007, his highlight as a supporter was being in the Olympic Stadium on ‘Super Saturday’ at London 2012, when Jess, Greg and Mo won Gold medals.
