Veteran Award - Arthur Thomson
Through a generous donation from the now-defunct running club Forest Edge Footers, the club has been able to make a special Veterans Award to walker Arthur Thomson.
Over 70 years of age, during a golden year in 2006 this former Commonwealth games medallist broke a world record for his age group in the 5000m walk that had stood for 24 years.
Arthur is pictured right with his award, which he was presented with at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Enfield on November 10th 2007 by Honorary Secretary Richard Harris. |
